Janoschka expands product range in Russia

Janoschka Pavlovsk, a company producing gravure cylinders for packaging in the tobacco sector, will install a Schepers Digilas laser at its production facility near St. Petersburg in early 2017. The direct laser will be operational in the first quarter of 2017 and will primarily be used for embossing.

By increasing its production volume as well as resources in the short to medium term, Janoschka is emphasizing its objective of becoming the most customer-oriented company in the industry.

The Digilas direct laser will be shipped from Germany to Russia before the end of the year in order to help respond to customer requirements and market demands in the growing tobacco sector with greater flexibility. It is expected to be fully operational within the embossing product segment at Janoschka Pavlovsk by March 2017 at the latest.

The highly reliable Digilas generation enables the production of top quality rotary embossing tools. The equipment allows for making textured rollers, as well as traditional union embossing made with the use of male and female dies. Complex 3D structures to create different surface effects and all kinds of sophisticated packaging designs are the company’s specialty. Various different surface materials, such as copper, zinc, brass, steel, and aluminum, can be lasered.

“Transferring this machine will allow us to offer the newest production technologies in Russia. The real added value for our customers will be the significant reduction in lead times thanks partly to the elimination of highly complex customs procedures,” explained Janoschka Holding’s executive Lutz Braune. “We will, of course, be replacing the unit at Kippenheim very quickly. In addition, we are planning two further laser investments in 2017 at our sites Janoschka Izmir and APE Malaysia, respectively,” he added.

Janoschka has 1,200 employees and its annual turnover is EUR92 million. The company is among the global market leaders in its sector. The company is represented globally through 24 subsidiaries in 14 countries.
