VTB Bank deploys Riverbed SteelHead solution

Riverbed Technology, Inc., a provider of application performance infrastructure, has announced that VTB Bank has deployed Riverbed SteelHead to improve application performance, employee productivity, and end-user experience.

To ensure high reliability, business continuity, and optimal application performance for both customers and employees, Riverbed was deployed as a comprehensive solution including SteelHead CX (to accelerate application performance and reduce bandwidth consumption), SteelHead Interceptor (to ensure high-availability and load balance traffic), and SteelCentral Controller for SteelHead (to centralize configuration, monitoring, and reporting on application performance across their distributed network).

“With the help of Riverbed we managed to decrease the volume of data transferred by 62 percent in all branches and the data centers, thus freeing up bandwidth for critical business and multimedia applications,” said Dmitry Nazipov, senior vice president of VTB Bank.

The Riverbed Application Performance Platform gives chief information officers end-to-end visibility, optimization, and control across an entire enterprise. A key part of the platform, Riverbed SteelHead, is the industry’s optimization solution for accelerated delivery of all applications across the hybrid enterprise. SteelHead provides increased visibility into application performance and end-user experience, as well as the ability to ensure business performance on service-level agreements through an application-aware approach to hybrid networking based on centralized business intent-based policies.
