During the May 2006 visit of the Belarusian business delegation to the U.S., Limber's director Maryia Surtayeva was one of the most sought-after people. Quite appropriately so. This woman successfully runs a large private industrial company.

Limber has operated as a private company on the Belarusian market for over ten years, representing the interests of the Republic’s small and medium-size businesses.

At the time of its foundation, the company was primarily engaged in clothing production. As market relations in Belarus developed and business activity intensified in the country, Limber became involved in other projects. The company started to process domestic and foreign leasing operations.           

In the beginning of the new millennium, Limber became the principal shareholder of a ferro-concrete plant, located near the capital of Belarus, the city of Minsk. Limber’s plant utilizes German equipment to produce concrete castings that are not very large, such as tiles, pavement edge stones, and other small concrete figures. The plant’s production facilities and administrative complexes are situated in a free economic zone FEZ Minsk. The vast majority of companies located in the economic zone are joint-ventures that were formed with U.S. investor participation.

During the course of Limber’s development, the company’s management came to prioritize three general business directions – creating light industry products, working in construction business, and leasing. The company currently has 180 employees.

One of Limber’s offers for international cooperation with American partners directly relates to the company’s wide selection of women’s and youth sewed and knitted clothing. Interested American businesses are welcome to submit mutually-beneficial offers for organizing the retail of Limber’s products in the United States. The company’s production capacities allow to process custom-design, individualized orders.

Another direction for possible work with American partners is in the automotive industry. Limber would be willing to partner with American companies in launching retail stores for automotive spare parts [even for American cars] in the United States.

With its stable position on the Belarusian market and its extensive infrastructural production base, Limber is also interested in attracting American investors to enlarge the company’s construction materials manufacturing capacity. In the recent years, the domestic construction materials market in the Republic of Belarus has been developing at an extraordinary pace. In the first two quarters of the current year alone, over 21.5 million sq. ft. of residential living space has been built in Belarus [the figure does not include commercial property]. Limber is ready to start a joint-venture company with American capital for the purchase of hi-tech equipment to be used in the production of various construction materials, including ferro-concrete blocks of different shapes. The company is additionally interested in studying modern construction methods and technologies. Limber plans to set up the new production lines on the premises of its existing concrete plant.
