In the summer of 2006, a three-day celebration of Christian culture took place in one of the most prestigious halls in America, the twenty-thousand-seat Madison Square Garden in New York. In addition to Christians from Korea, a great number of Slavic churches in New York participated in the event.

World famous musicians, including Enrique Caruso, Placida Domingo, Luchano Pavarotti, the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley once performed in that auditorium.

At the festival in Madison Square Garden, Christians from different countries of the world were praising God in song, ballet performances, sermons, and prayers. U.S. Congressmen, the Vice-President of Peru, the President of NRB (National Religious Broadcasters of U.S.), famous singers, musicians, and church leaders were among the honorable guests. The main spiritual speaker was Rev. Dr. Jaerock Lee, a pastor of the Manmin Church of Seoul.

For three days, thousands and thousands of people came to these forums of music, spirit, repentance, and healing. On the last Saturday, there were 19 500 people in the auditorium. Every day, the President of Spiritual Diplomacy, Mikhail Morgulis, opened the festival of God's power and love with a prayer of praise. The audience's applause was like thunder in the sky. The Slavic performers included Igor Rudy and Vladimir Limarenko. Pastor Mark Bazalev participated in the international service. The sermon of Dr. Jaerock Lee was simple, in it Biblical purity and clearness. Around five thousand Russian-speaking people came to hear Dr. Jaerock Lee's sermon: evangelical believers, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and Orthodox Christians.

Just like the Biblical character Job, Dr. Jaerock Lee came to know what suffering is like in his early life. Dr. Jaerock Lee used to be an atheist. Once he fell ill, and was diagnosed with cancer. Medicine was powerless. He had three or four months left to live. Jaerock Lee used to repeat to himself, “These are my last steps on the earth that made me so unhappy.” There was no fear inside, just a wild disappointment, an understanding that life has passed by. It seemed to him to be like a life of an animal no goals, no high ideals, and no happiness.

At the time, a spiritual revival was taking place in South Korea... Half of the country’s population had already converted to Christianity and the standards of living dramatically improved. Millions of people started to live in prosperity.

One day, some relatives took Dr. Jaerock Lee to church. Dr. Jaerock Lee remembers experiencing a miracle of healing that occurred during the service: “It was like a fire was burning in my insides; a purifying flame touched me from within. Later, I realized it had been the Holy Spirit incinerating my diseases... ” His doctors quietly looked at his X-rays making helpless gestures because they couldn't say what had happened. They could not explain where all the tumors and diseases have gone.

After his miraculous recovery Dr. Jaerock Lee dedicated his life to helping others. He started a church, which had only 13 members in the beginning. Today the Manmin Church of Seoul has 100 000 members. The church has numerous missions around the world in India, Japan, Peru, Pakistan, and Russia.

After Jae Rock Lee's prayer service in St. Petersburg, we had a conversation with Nadezhda Zats, a 58-year-old woman. “When he began speaking, I didn't believe a single word he said. We had been brought up in an atheistic environment! But later, I felt as if the heavens had gotten closer to me; I felt a mighty power through Jae Rock Lee. For 18 years I was chained to my wheel chair and used to take a lot of medicine for my heart. But then I got up easily; my breathing was even. I was in a good state of humor.”

An evangelical believer, Georgiy, 69 years old, had a different recollection of his meeting with Jae Rock Lee: “When he started reading the Bible, I was also repeating David's Psalms in my mind. I was saying these words: 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me...' At that very moment, I looked at the stage and saw an Angel rise behind Jae Rock Lee. And the Angel came towards me, through the hall, and I was the only one to see him... He touched me with his snow-white wing and said, 'You have two and a half months left to live... Are you afraid of death?' 'Yes, I am, though I am a believer,' I replied. He touched me again with his wing and whispered 'For your trust in this servant of mine, you will receive 10 more years of life.' I can't forget that experience, and, though two and a half years have passed, every time I recall what happened then, I feel spring and joy come into my heart. And I am alright, despite all the troubles. I am sure: there are miracles in our world, but they must be performed with pure hands.”

This festival of God's glory in New York was transmitted on television to 200 countries. The Russian-speaking people attending the event talked of many unusual healing experiences. Some say they saw that a visible tumor on one young girl's neck went away and that several blind men and women regained their sight. The believers of different religions, who were present at the Festival, were strengthened in faith. The Russian people living in the U.S. received the righteous man from Korea with the same reverence and hope as their compatriots halfway across the world.
