Sochi 2014

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin says that preparations for the Sochi Olympics-2014 are going at full steam. Speaking at the session of the Presidium of the Council for Sport under the President of Russia, Putin said that both the Sochi journalists and the representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had acknowledged this. He urged private businessmen to get more actively involved in the Olympic construction. According to Putin, about 80 percent of finances that are being assigned for the “Sochi-2014” project will be spent to give a boost to the development of Sochi as a tourist center. Highways will be built, energy supply and communication will be improved, and ecological problems will be resolved, Vladimir Putin said.
