Customs union with Belarus, Kazakhstan

Vladimir Putin told the Russian parliament that the agreed-upon customs union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan can be launched in 2010, which is a year earlier than planned.

The union should boost development through unimpeded trade with a common border.
