According to the Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Khristenko, the Russian government allocated close to RUR 80 billion for investing in the aviation industry in the current year. Anti-crisis measures taken by Russian authorities have contributed to the growth in levels of investment.

RUR 15 billion was earmarked for expanding the charter capital base of MiG in 2009. RUR 4.12 billion has been given to the Kazan Aviation Plant.

The Trade Minister noted that the financing of the aviation industry will continue uninterrupted without regard to the economic problems.

The Russian government intends to complete the program for the development of the civil aviation industry before drafting the budget for fiscal year 2011.
