Minimizing atmospheric emissions

TNK-BP, a Russia-based vertically-integrated oil company, has announced plans to build an integrated installation of oil and gas, or UKPNG, on Zagorsk group of fields in Novosergievskom area within the framework of the integrated Orenburg project.

The project will allow to do away almost entirely with the burning of associated gas and minimize atmospheric emissions in the region.

“The power of Zagorsk UKPNG is calculated at 550 million cubic meters of gas and more than 1.5 million tons per year of crude oil.” said the head of the Bobrovskaya group of fields of Orenburgneft Oleg Pantyushin. “For comparison, one of the most powerful of all such installations  today, the Vakhitovsky installation (Perevolotsky district) has the capacity of only 210 million cubic meters of gas.”

TNK-BP also plans to build new pipelines to supply gas from Zagorsk UKPNG to the Orenburg Gas-processing Plant and Zaykinsky GPP. The preparatory work and the calculation of the financial targets for Zagorsk UKPNG is now underway.
