Samara has one of the lowest unemployment rates

The information from surveys of the Russian employment market conducted in the spring of 2011, as reported by the Federal Statistics Service, indicates that one of the lowest unemployment rates in Russia is in Samara region. The rate, calculated in accordance with the standards of the International Labor Organization, was only 6.3 percent. In comparison, the average unemployment rate in Russia is 6.9 percent. In the Volga Federal District alone, the rate is 7.1 percent.
