Government appropriations for supporting private sector agribusiness in the Arkhangel’sk region will increase by 38 percent in 2012, reaching USD 28.6 million. The increase is spelled out in the agriculture business development program for the years 2012 through 2015. Government assistance will be furnished in order of priority to enterprises striving to augment production, lower costs, generate employment position, or involve outside investment. In addition to increasing the level of funding, the government will implement procedures to ease the farmers’ access to financing.
