Dimitrovgrad to be the capital of small towns

The city of Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region, received the designation of being a pilot site for the “Cultural capital of Russia’s towns” project. Cities with population under 200 000 people have been classified as small towns at the conference of Russian small towns held in Moscow in late April 2011. Russia now has 580 small towns.
