Dixy Group’s revenue increase by a fifth in five months

The leading food and consumer products seller in Russia Dixy Group reported revenue growth exceeding 26 percent in U.S. dollar terms in the first five months of 2011. The revenue figure in dollars stood at USD 1.987 billion. Computed in Russian currency, the revenue actually increased by only 21.6 percent to RUR 31.24 billion.  

Revenue in retail rose by 22.9 percent to USD 927 million or RUR 26.67 billion. As such, the retail revenue figure went up 27.6 percent year-on-year in dollar terms.

The Group’s Megamart stores showed an increase in retail revenue of 14.4 percent in dollar terms and 10.2 percent in Russian currency. Total revenue from retail sales of Megamart was USD 110 million, or RUR 3.156 billion.   

The revenue of the Group’s Minimart stores stood at RUR 959 million, or USD 33 million, evidencing growth of 9.7 percent in Russian currency and 9.7 percent in U.S. dollar terms on a year-on-year basis. The Dixy Group also registered revenue of RUR 457 billion, or USD 16 million from its other operations, such as marketing, sublease, and wholesale.
