In mid-July, Ford Motor Company’s plant at Vsevolozhsk in the Leningrad region commenced the serial production of a new Ford Focus vehicle. The company reports that three different types of the third-generation version of the Ford Focus will be built: with four doors, five doors, and station wagon.

The first vehicle to be assembled at the factory was the five-door hatchback. The four-door Focus and the station wagon will enter production in the months of September and January.

Overall, Ford Motor estimates that the sales of the Focus model in Russia will reach 85 000 in 2011. The company began the production of the Focus in Russia in 2002, and from that time on, the compact vehicle has been the most popular foreign-brand vehicle on the Russian market.
