Terex and GAZ Group to joint venture for road machinery production

The Russian car producer GAZ Group entered into an agreement with the Terex Corporation for venturing together to produce machinery and equipment for road construction. Under the agreement, the assembly line will be built in Russia.

The technology needed for the plant will be provided by Terex, while the production facilities and the factory personnel will come from GAZ Group.

The Russian automaker will also ensure that the new road construction products will be distributed through its chain of dealers.

Production is anticipated to commence in 2012. The road equipment will be manufactured at facilities located within the Tver, the Bryansk, the Chelyabinsk, and the Nizhniy Novgorod regions.

No commercial specifications have yet been provided with regards to this transaction. 

GAZ Group stands as the biggest maker of commercial autos and road construction equipment in Russia. The Group consists of 18 car production plants in Russia, in addition to a number of dealerships and service centers.
