The preparation of the Russian-American agreement introducing changes to the visa regime and simplifying the visa process is now almost complete. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the new framework will allow receiving multi-entry tourist, business, and official visas. Russia and the United States are at this time finalizing the drafting of provisions limiting the length of time that visa applications may remain pending adjudication. Also, the sides are reaching an agreement as to what documents the individuals in the various categories would need to present in order to obtain a visa.
