25 percent of world nuclear market

In the foreseeable future, Russia may come to dominate in the nuclear power engineering market in the world, taking more than 25 percent of the market. Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev commented that he fully appreciates these prospects.

The Russian President said that quite a few countries have now expressed a desire to increase the share of their nuclear-generated power in the overall scheme of their domestic energy production. Consequently, the market for nuclear engineering services is expanding.

President Medvedev believes that Russia should take a respectable position in the global nuclear market.

Russian scientists can offer a vast array of nuclear engineering services, going around full cycle from the extraction of uranium ore, to the maintenance and the decommissioning of nuclear reactors. Altogether, Russia’s President is convinced that a quarter share of the world’s market is fully within reach of Russian nuclear companies. The President is aware of how significant such developments may be.

President Medvedev noted that he repeatedly raises the issue of spreading nuclear engineering technologies and emphasizes the appropriateness of Russia’s leadership in that endeavor. So far, the response from his colleagues abroad has been quite positive.
