Aviation cluster at Ulan Ude aircraft factory

The government has created the Buryatia aviation manufacturing cluster of six companies on the basis of the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. According to a government representative, the sales volume of the cluster’s companies is expected to increase by almost a third to 36.5 billion roubles by 2016. The cluster is formed around the anchor enterprise Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, which is an integral part of JSC Helicopters of Russia (JSC OPK Oboronprom). In the short term, the cluster will launch into serial production the Mi-171A2 helicopter. The production of a light class helicopter is expected in the medium term, and the production of a high-speed helicopter in the long term.
