BMW considers constructing a plant in Russia

The German automobile manufacturer BMW is contemplating setting up plants out of the borders of the European region to enter the rapidly expanding markets of Asia and Latin America.

As reported by news agency Reuters, the CEO of BMW Norbert Reithofer indicated that one of the car assembly factories may be established in Russia.

As of today, BMW has announced plans to build a vehicle manufacturing plant in Brazil. Mr. Reithofer is reported to have said that the company was looking to build another plant in Brazil, Russia, Turkey, India, or South Korea.

BMW was reassured in its strategy of global expansion by a significant rise in sales during the first quarter of 2011, propagated by rising vehicle purchase volumes in the United States and China.
