The Cargill corporation, which produces agricultural products and food, started building a sunflower oil processing facility in Novoanninskiy, Volgograd region. The company anticipates investing over USD200 in the facility. The target annual processing volume is 640 thousand tons of seeds.
According to Andreas Rickmers, Cargill has a substantial presence on Russia’s agro market. Because of the significance of its role in the country, the company is all the more willing to intensify investment activities and once again outdo its competitors. Mr. Rickmers has noted that Cargill sees tremendous potential in Russia. First and foremost, the company expects that the new facility will bring advantages to its clients.
According to Rickmers, Cargill’s investment in the processing plant at Novoanninskiy is part of the group’s strategy of catering to Russia’s farming operations. In particular, it is anticipated that the new facility will allow local farmers to process their crops in a more effective and efficient manner.
As such, the sunflower crush plant will be yet another sales channel, as most of the agricultural products grown in the area can easily be used as feedstock for the oil processing station.
Cargill also offers area farmers a host of other planning services, including financial advice. Cargill’s philosophy is that its stable growth and steady operation is intertwined with the success of local farmers that constitute the bulk of the company’s consumer base.
The cutting edge plant will meet the strictest sanitary norms when it enters operation in 2015. The processing facility will service Cargill’s customers in the food and the feed market segments within Russia, as well as internationally. The Russian plant will not be the only sunflower oil crush plant station under Cargill’s control, as the group maintains an expanding network of such facilities in different countries across the globe.
