Construction projects in Primorye

An economic forum in St. Petersburg provided a discussion platform for U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez and the Governor of Primorye Vladimir Miklushevsky. This discussion revolved around the involvement of American businessmen in Primorye projects.

Primorye Governor’s press service stated that Sanchez informed Miklushevsky that U.S. investors’ interest in Primorye started when they explored the region’s advantages at an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vladivostok. He further said that American investors should visit the region to explore its full potential.

Miklushevsky thanked Sanchez for his statement, adding that the local government intends to make Primorye more welcoming to foreign investors. The regional administration will do so by eradicating administrative hurdles, reserving construction sites for new projects, and providing tax relief to businessmen.

The press further reported that the two government officials talked about projects that might interest American investors, including the construction of roads and industrial sites. In short, Miklushevsky’s response was very positive, and he invited Sanchez to come and see Primorye along with other investors.
