Sergei Ryabkov, who serves as Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, participated in early August in a meeting that was being attended by both American and Russian defense and foreign officials in Washington, D.C.
Later, Ryabkov sat down for an interview and stated that prior to the meeting he had been received by Williams Burns, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State. On that same day, he also met with Political Affairs Secretary Wendy Sherman. As an inside source reported, the meeting revolved around the bilateral agenda, and different aspects were discussed.
Both countries also debated on international topics and clarified their views on the subjects raised.
