Diesel-Energo sealed the deal to buy the land with an area of 1.8 hectares in the industrial park Maryino of the Petrodvorets district from VTB Capital Asset Management. The announcement was made by the deputy general director of Diesel-Energo Igor Solovyov, although the amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

Diesel Energy plans to build a center for research and development and pilot production of diesel generators, investing about 1 billion roubles.

Construction of the first phase of the research complex will be completed in the summer of 2013. In the second phase of construction, an administrative building and the assembly facility will be erected. The total building area is about seven thousand square meters. The completion of the second phase is scheduled for the summer of 2015.
