Duty on oil exports from Russia

The export duty on oil in Russia decreased by USD8 to USD396.5 per ton from USD404.5 per ton in November, according to a government resolution adopted in late November. The reduced rate for oil in Eastern Siberia and the Caspian fields Prirazlomnoye as of December 1 is USD193.3 per ton, compared with the rate in effect in November of USD199.4 per ton. The duty on high viscosity oil, which is computed at 10 percent of the duty on regular oil, decreased to USD39.6 per ton compared to USD40.4 per ton in November. The duty on light and heavy oil that went into effect on October 1, 2011 is at 66 percent the duty on regular oil. As of December 1, that duty is USD261.7 per ton, down from USD267 per ton a month earlier.
