Electricity production in Russia grew

Electricity production in Russia from January to July 2012 increased 1.4 percent to 617 billion kilowatt-hours, according to the Federal State Statistics Service.

In particular, the amount of energy produced by nuclear power plants increased by 9.1 percent to 105 billion kWh. Electricity production in thermal power plants increased by 1 percent to 417 billion kWh. Electricity production with hydroelectric power declined 4.2 percent to end at 94.2 billion kWh.

Heat production increased by 0.6 percent to 798 million Gcal.
