Evraz received the European Compliance Certificate (TSI) from VUZ, the certificate authority for rail transport (translated as the Railway Research Institute).
Evraz is now certified to produce rolled railway wheels with a 920 millimeter diameter. Earlier, Evraz was awarded a certificate of compliance with the TSI quality requirements. At the present time, Evraz is shipping wheels to the European market.
As a result of obtaining the TSI certificate, Evraz’s NTMK entered into a partnership with Deutsche Bank for commercializing steel products. The wheels sold by Evraz are presently undergoing field testing. A commercial shipment of a batch of BA-318 wheels is expected to take place in early 2014.
Evraz continues to apply for other certificates of compliance to be able to ship cargos of rolling stock wheels to Europe. The list of the company’s certificates continues growing.
The company hopes to enlarge the list of products offered to the North American market.
The company makes 20 types of wheels for railroad cars, including cargo and passenger rail cars, for metro trains, for special rolling stock, as well as for locomotives.
Evraz’s international presence becomes stronger with every small increase in the list of products that the Russian manufacturer exports. According to Evraz’s vice president Ilya Shirokobrod, the ability to meet global demand positively reflects on the company’s financial situation, where performance indicators are expected to rise.
At the present time, EVRAZ owns assets in Russia, the U.S., Canada, the Czech Republic, Italy and Kazakhstan.
