Evraz consolidates European business

Evraz Plc and Evraz Group SA plan to establish Evraz Europe to consolidate the steel producer’s European assets, including Czech Evraz Vitkovice Steel and Italian Evraz Palini e Bertoli.

The new company will be headed by Dmitrij Scuka, Evraz’s director of operations for European and African assets responsible for the operation and reconstruction of three Evraz mills in Europe and South Africa. He is appointed chief executive starting from January 2, 2012.

Until Evraz Europe becomes fully operational, Scuka will also temporarily head Evraz Vitkovice Steel. Zbynek Kvapik, CEO of Evraz Vitkovice Steel, has filed his resignation with effect from January 2, 2012, to continue his career outside Evraz, the company said on its website.
