Fiat has not yet abandoned plans
The Italian carmaker Fiat has not yet abandoned plans for constructing a car plant in St. Petersburg, according to Governor Georgy Poltavchenko. City officials and the Italian company will continue talks on building the auto plant.
According Poltavchenko, the administration of St. Petersburg offered to the auto concern several sites to choose from for a possible location of an automobile manufacturing enterprise, and the Italian company found the locations to be quite favorable.
Poltavchenko added that Fiat has not yet made a final decision on the creation of a car production facility in St. Petersburg because of internal corporate challenges.
