Under an agreement with the American automaker General Motors, GAZ Group in 2013 will start contract assembly of the Chevrolet Aveo sedan and hatchback models, according to the administration of Nizhny Novgorod. Production will be set up at the Gorky Automobile Plant.

All of the technological equipment has already been installed and tested in the production of 15 vehicles. The first four cars have already passed the full production cycle, including welding, painting, and assembly.

It is expected that the annual production of about 30,000 Aveo sedans and hatchbacks will take place at the plant. The cars will be sold on the Russian market.
