Halo Polymer U.S. office drives up results
“American customers benefited from our launching the U.S. representative office,” president of HaloPolymer Trading, Inc. Vladislav Grinin.
OJSC HaloPolymer is one of the largest world producers of fluoropolymer products (nine percent of the world market) and the only Russian producer of specialized fluoropolymers.
With over 4,500 highly-skilled employees, the company is the number one Russian producer of freons and one of the leaders in the creation of inorganic chemistry products (acids, alkalies, salts). The company supplies products to more than 30 countries around the world. Revenues from the holding company’s sales, as well as from other ventures and services for 2011 amounted to USD459.9 million (14,961 million roubles). The net profit of the holding company was USD149 million (4,848 million roubles).
Fluoropolymer products are used in various industrial sectors, including the mechanical industry, electrical engineering, car manufacturing, and nuclear power engineering.
In the spring of 2012, OJSC HaloPolymer opened its first overseas representative office in the United States HaloPolymer Trading, Inc. headquartered in Houston, Texas, with storage facilities in Houston and New York. According to Maxim Doroshkevich, the CEO of OJSC HaloPolymer, the main task of the U.S. office was to increase the sales of the PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) grades, as well as to build up the sales of fuse fluoropolymers to customers in North and South America.
“The opening of the HaloPolymer representative office in the U.S. provided real advantages for the customers of the HaloPolymer group, such as fixed pricing at the time of the transaction. It also eliminated customs formalities, and resulted in a significant reduction of transit time,” the president of HaloPolymer Trading Inc. Mr. Vladislav Grinin said. “In July 2012, the first shipments of PTFEs launched from the warehouses of HaloPolymer Trading Inc. located in Houston and New York,” Vladislav Grinin said. Within only one month, our office in the U.S. sold about 120 metric tons of PTFEs that amounted to 4.3 percent of the monthly consumption of this product in North America.
According to Maxim Doroshkevich, the CEO of OJSC HaloPolymer, another benefit that the company offers to PTFE buyers is its ability to provide raw material for the client’s spot orders, a practice that has not existed in the past due to longer delivery periods from Russia to the U.S.: “Not only do we boost our company’s sales, but also we help our customers increase their PTFE processing by allowing them to expand their range of orders.”
