During a November 20 visit to the Voronezh region, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, accompanied by the Governor of Voronezh region Alexei Gordeev, examined the panorama of Novovoronezh NPP-2. At the Novovoronezh site, Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting of the Presidential Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Development in the Field of Nuclear Technology. The Governor of Voronezh region Alexei Gordeev said that the industrial production index for the region is one of the highest in Russia, at 134 percent. Dmitry Medvedev said that figure compares well with the national average of less than 103 percent.
