Inflation in Russia could be 6 percent in 2011

The Central Bank of Russia predicts inflation for this year will be 6-7 percent.

“We figure 0.6 percent in March, but in general we think it is possible to keep within our range of 6-7  percent,” Central Bank of Russia Chairman Sergei Ignatyev said at a government presidium meeting.

Russia’s Deputy Prime Minsiter and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said that accumulated inflation since the start of the year reached 3.6 percent.

According to Russia’s State Statistics Agency (Rosstat), inflation in Russia for March 6-14 came to 0.2 percent and 3.5 percent since the start of the year.
