Investment of Rosneft and Exxon
The approximate investment in projects of Rosneft and ExxonMobil in the Kara Sea is estimated at USD200-300 billion and in the Black Sea at USD50 billion, according to Igor Sechin. According to the official, no less than 15 offshore platforms will be constructed for the fields in the Kara Sea. According to the report of Rosneft, exploration at the Tuapse license area of the Black Sea in Russia is to begin in September, as part of a strategic cooperation agreement. The agreed program of seismic studies would constitute 70 percent of the project, and it is planned to complete it in the second quarter of 2012. After seismic data is gatherer, it will be interpreted by geologists. The drilling of the first exploration well is planned for 2014-2015.
