Kozmino throughput up in first half of 2011

The exportation of oil through the Kozmino terminal, which is a part of the Port of Vostochny on the Sea of Japan, increased by as much as 5 percent from January to June of 2011. The total volume of fuel exported totaled 7 498 thousand metric tons, or 55.11 million barrels. 

The crude oil coming through the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline is destined for the markets of the U.S. (27 percent), Japan (19 percent), South Korea (13 percent), the Philippines (11 percent), Thailand (11 percent), China (9 percent), Singapore (7 percent), Indonesia (2 percent), and India (1 percent).

Oil exports to the United States soared to 31 percent, or 400 000 tons (2.94 million bbls), in June. By contrast, only one tanker holding 100 000 tons of oil went to Japan.
