Krispy Kreme opened a new store

The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation in association with Arkady Novikov launched a brand-name doughnut cafe in Moscow. Jeff Welch, president of the international division within Krispy Kreme, has said that his company was pleased to partner with Arkady Novikov and LLC Doughnuts Cafe and watch the joint venture’s presence expand in Moscow. Mr. Welch expressed the hope that the knowledge of the Russian partners as to the eating habits of the people in Moscow, coupled with their multiple previous success stories, will lead to the Krispy Kreme brand’s becoming a part of local culture.

The Moscow Krispy Kreme store, occupying a little over 3,200 square feet of space is situated on Nikolskaya Street, near the GUM shopping mall and the Red Square. The place is an ideal tourist area.

The Russian Krispy Kreme’s menu includes a variety of glazed, iced, and filled doughnuts. The cafe also offers espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and an assortment of cold beverages.

According to the president and CEO of Krispy Kreme James Morgan, the company has now expanded to some 540 locations in 21 countries. Mr. Morgan added that Krispy Kreme was delighted to add Russia to its international markets. The company expects to grow its Russian presence.

Most recently, Krispy Kreme opened stores in Edinburgh and Bangalore. Before the end of 2013, the company intends to open an operation in Singapore. Further, the company is pursuing opportunities in Central and South America.
