The MoneyGram money transfer service entered into an agreement with Russia’s MTS to provide customers with cash remittance services at MTS locations. Under the agreement reached between the two entities, MoneyGram’s clients would be able to send monetary payments to any of the global chain’s locations. Presently, the group has 334,000 locations in different countries. Customers now enjoy an easy process of performing their transactions at MTS stores without going to bank branches.
According to Evgeny Butyugin, the director for MoneyGram’s operations in Russia and the C.I.S., the company’s arrangement with MTS represents a significant advancement in the group’s expansion. Company executive also emphasized that MoneyGram always strives to enhance the availability of company services to its clients.
The agreement with MTS is a product of MoneyGram’s collaboration with RNKO Payment Center, which is a credit organization based in Russia. MoneyGram teamed up with RNKO Payment Center as far back as in 2008 for the purpose of increasing the global group’s presence within Russia.
At this time, MoneyGram services are available in Russia in a number of banking establishments. The transfers are accomplished through the RNKO Payment Center. Money Gram’s executives believe that including MTS among the agents through which the company does business will lead to increasing the company’s share of the remittances market in Russia.
