Miss T.E.E.N. World Anastasia Kabatskaya

Two Russian girls were in the top ten at the world beauty contest held on June 30, 2012 in Houston, Texas.

At the end of June 2012, the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston hosted 70 of the most beautiful and inspirational young women from around the world during a week-long event which resulted in four stunning beauty pageant winners.

The Miss T.E.E.N. pageant is the international pageant for teenagers from different nations of the world.

The week ended with a spectacular show in the Intercontinental Hotel Ballroom. After a high-energy opening dance numbers, the Miss T.E.E.N. delegates competed in a national costume contest with elaborate and breathtaking costumes that epitomized the beauty and culture of each nation.

Two young girls from Russia took part in the pageant at once – Olga Rodionova from the city of Perm and Anastasia Kabatskaya from Nizhny Novgorod. Anastasia Kabatskaya was last year’s winner in the Russian national competition. It just so happened that in the previous year Anastasia was unable to come to Houston for the finals because the U.S. Embassy in Russia could not issue her a visa in time. This year, the pageant’s organizers allowed both Russian young ladies to participate in the pageant.

The prizes at the pageant included scholarships of USD40,000 dollars, jewelry items, clothes, cosmetics, photo shoots, and trips around the world. The finalists included 20 participants from 19 countries. Anastasia Kabatskaya represented Russia, and Olga Rodionova represented Siberia. Both Russian competitors were tall, slender, and good-looking. The long-legged redhead beauty Olga Rodionova reminded Hollywood star Nicole Kidman. The blue-eyed blonde Anastasia Kabatskaya looked like the Snow Maiden from the Russian fairy tales.

The stages of competition vary from one beauty pageant to the other. Miss T.E.E.N. World in Houston consisted of classic fashion shows in the national costume, the evening gown, the swimsuit, as well as of a brief interview, where the contestants answered a question from the jury.

At the end of the swimsuit competition, the final ten were selected. Olga and Anastasia both were included into the top ten. Then the circle of contenders for the crown and the title of Miss T.E.E.N. World narrowed down to five finalists. Anastasia Kabatskaya still remained in the competition together with girls from South Africa, the U.S., New Zealand, and Puerto Rico.

Answering the question to the jury as to what qualities Miss T.E.E.N. World should have Anastasia Kabatskaya identified openness, the ability to be oneself, and the desire to help people. The jury clearly liked the substance of the answer; however, its weight was apparently lessened because it was spoken through an interpreter.

And then came the moment of truth. There were only two young ladies standing on the podium: Anastasia Kabatskaya of Russia and Alicia Robertson of New Zealand. The title Miss T.E.E.N. World was awarded to the girl from New Zealand, and Anastasia became the first runner-up to the crown. Anastasia Kabatskaya also won the special prize for the catwalk in swimsuits.

Anastasia’s parents Viktor and Olga accompanied her to Houston. Curiously, it was the Russian girl’s father, a ranking police officer, who urged her to enter her very first beauty contest in Nizhny Novgorod.
