Rolf Import, the official Mitsubishi Motors distributor in Russia, sold a record number of vehicles, 8 004, in November, while the brand’s sales in January-November rose 67% year-on-year.
This is the best result in the post-crisis period after 2008 and the top Mitsubishi sales across its foreign markets, Rolf Import said in a news release referring to November’s high.
Russia has thus confirmed its status as the biggest foreign market for Mitsubishi products.
In January-November 2011, Mitsubishi ranked among the top ten foreign car brands in Russia in terms of sales with 66 845 vehicles sold in 11 months. SUVs and station wagons accounted for 84% of its sales portfolio, or 56 154 vehicles, a 130% rise from the respective period of last year.
The Mitsubishi ASX crossover led the market with 2 143 vehicles sold (up 87%), followed by the Mitsubishi Outlander XL midsize crossover (2 104 vehicles, up 21%), and the Mitsubishi Lancer lower-middle class sedan with 1 188 cars.
