NATO & Russia to enter practical cooperation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov met with NATO’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in New York in order to address issues of regional and global security. The statement the Foreign Minister issued to journalists indicated that the discussion was primarily concentrated on specific matters of the partnership between NATO and Russia. The alliance and the Russian Federation have both come to conclude that continued dialogue and practical cooperation within the framework of the NATO-Russia Council on the basis of the 2002 Rome declaration is of great mutual advantage. Minister Lavrov and the Secretary General also shared with one another the views on issues of international geopolitical and military stability.
