The Okskaya Shipyard, based in Navashino, Nizhegorodskiy region, which is a member of Vladimir Lisin’s UCL holding company, delivered to its customer Volga-Flot-Tanker the fifth vessel of the 10 project RST27 petroleum product tankers ordered, according to the Marine Engineering Bureau, the ship’s developer.
The construction of the tanker began in late March of this year, and it was lowered on the water already on November 4. It is planned that the shipyard will build and deliver all 10 tankers to the customer prior to November 2014. The company started to build the tenth tanker at the end of November.
Ten more of the same product carriers ordered by Volga-Flot-Tanker are being built at the Red Sormovo shipyard, which is part of the state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation. The plant has already delivered to the customer nine of the 10 tankers. According to UCL Holding, the total investment in the construction of 20 vessels is 8.6 billion roubles. The RST27 product tanker project is a self-propelled vessel of the Volga-Don Max class, which is designed for mixed (river-sea) bulk transport of crude oil and petroleum products, including gasoline, without limitation on flash point. The tanker provides two kinds of cargo transportation. Environmental safety has been increased for the new tankers. With a draft of 3.6 meters in a river, the deadweight of the RST27 tanker is 5.378 million tons, and with a draft of 4.2 meters at sea, the deadweight is 6.98 tons. The length of the vessel is 140.85 meters, its width is 16.86 meters, and its depth six meters. The operational speed of the ship is 10 knots, and the crew consists of 12 people.

Volga-Flot-Tanker transports oil from the refineries on the Belaya and the Kama rivers to St. Petersburg and Vysotsk and then ships the cargoes to the ports of destination.
