On December 24, 2013, Evraz’s Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK) absorbed 99.999 percent of Evrazruda. The two companies now comprise the Russian steel major Evraz Group.
Prior to the acquisition, MasterCroft, Ltd., registered in Cyprus, was the full owner of Evrazruda.
The center for corporate relations at the Evraz Group assured investors that the acquisition will not influence the way that Evrazruda conducts its business.
NTMK also owns 99.999 percent of the Unite: Coal Company Yuzhkuzbassugol, which is located in the Kemerovo region. Another asset of NTMK in the Kemerovo region is Evraz s United West Siberian Metallurgical Combine The previous owner of these two companies was MasterCroft.
NTMK is the leader in the Russian metallurgy industry. Evrazruda owns such major assets as the Tashtagolsky, the Kazsky, the Guryevsky and the Sheregeshsky mines, as well as the Abagur enrichment and sintering plant and the Mundybash enrichment plant in the Kemerovo region. Other assets include the Abakansky and the Teisky mines in Khakasia, as well as the Irbinsky mine in the Krasnoyarsk krai.
