The Nizhni Novgorod-based Lobachevsky State University (UNN) and the University of Florida began the implementation phase of an international project with a price tag of 800 000.

The two educational establishments won a grant to carry out a project on Capacity Building Partnership to Improve Tourism Education, Research, and Industry Outreach. The three-year project envisions conducting student exchange programs.

The project is funded by the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. The primary goal of the project is to use the experience and expertise of leading American universities in the development of the tourism industry of the Nizhni Novgorod region and in the training of highly-qualified specialists for tourism facilities. One of the most important components of the project is the development of educational IT support, which is a significant part of the strategy of National Research University Development of the UNN.
