The producer of natural gas Novatek finished constructing the gas condensate fractionation and transshipment complex at the Ust-Luga port on the coast of the Baltic Sea. The new facility is conducting operational tests in order to be commissioned for regular operation.
The facility is designed to further fractionate stable gas condensate. The fractionation unit allows producing three million tons of processed gas condensate every year and is equipped with an additional deep-water berth convenient for large vessels. The entire complex at Ust-Luga will produce six million tons of gas condensate at full capacity each year.
Leonid Mikhelson, the CEO of Novatek, observed that the completion of the Ust-Luga Complex is an important part of the expansion of the company’s processing capacities ahead of significant increases in gas condensate production. Mr. Mikhelson concluded that achieving full processing capacity at Ust-Luga supports the vertical integration of Novatek’s production value chain and allows the company to diversify further its product stream, as well as its customer base for such products.
