Starting August 1, 2010, the export tariff on crude oil exported from Russia increased from USD 248.80 per ton to USD 263.80. According to Alexander Sakovich, the representative of the Russian Ministry of Finance who is in charge of setting customs duties, the average price of Russian crude oil was USD 74.45 per barrel in July of 2010.
Export tariffs on oil from fields in Eastern Siberia will increase to USD 80.3 per ton from their current level of USD 69.9. Export duties on light oil products were raised to USD 190 per ton effective August 1 (previous tariff was USD 179.9). Duties on dark petroleum products were increased to USD 102.4 per ton from USD 96.90.
