Oil exports to China

JSC Transneft expects the volume of oil exports to China through the Kozmino terminal (the end point of the Eastern Siberia to Pacific Ocean pipeline, ESPO) to reach about five million tons in 2012, according to deputy vice president of Transneft Igor Katz. “For the 10 months of 2012, Chinese consumers accounted for about 30 percent of the crude oil exports purchased at the port of Kozmino,” he said, adding that exports through Kozmino in 2012 are expected to reach 16.3 million tons, and the share of exports to China will remain at about 30 percent. Katz noted that Transneft considers it appropriate to increase exports to China only through Kozmino and not through the Skovorodino-Mahe pipeline.
