RusHydro accelerated its program of energy development for the Far East, which is the region where it will build seven large energy facilities. The operator of the program is the JSC RAO Energy System of the East. The decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of JSC RusHydro that allocated 50 billion roubles to the company was an additional incentive in promoting this program. Funds from the increase in the company’s capital will be earmarked toward the implementation of priority investment projects, namely the CHP in Sovetskaya Gavan, Khabarovsk krai, Sakhalin GRES-2, Yakutsk GRES-2, and the Blagoveshchensk CHP.
