Russia to transition to sustainable development

According to Boris Gryzlov, the Speaker of the Russian State Duma and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party, Russia

needs to create social and economic mechanisms that would allow it to develop steadily in the future. Russia also must address ways of countering emergent threats. Speaker Gryzlov is convinced that Russia will move toward a sustainable growth model in a five-year term. The main directions of development are economic – improving the situation on the domestic market and strengthening the ties with other countries.

Speaker Gryzlov thinks that it is imperative to develop the Customs Union and shape the Common Economic Space to the end of creating a financial center in Moscow. The government also needs to define its social role and alter its attitude in relation to the use of natural resources and raw materials.
