Russian nitrogen fertilizer output grows

The output of nitrogen fertilizer grew 5.2% in Russia in the period from January to the end of November 2011, to 7.1mn metric tons (100% nutrient content), Russia’s State Statistics Service reported.

Phosphate fertilizer production grew 3.8% to 2.9mn tons, and potash fertilizer production increased 5.1% to 7.1mn tons.

Overall, mineral fertilizer production in Russia increased 4.9% to 17.1mn tons in January-November, as earlier reports said. Synthetic ammonia output reached 12.8mn tons (up 5.4%), sulphuric acid 9.7mn tons (up 3.1%), soda ash 2.6mn (up 5.2%), and caustic soda 1mn tons (down 3%).

Chemical production grew 6.1%, compared to the same period of last year.
