Russian wheat exports plummet

The Federal Custom Service of Russia has published a report that states wheat exports in Russia have reached the volume of 1.23 million tons. In the same period of the previous year, exports were 6.136 million tons. The numbers make apparent that a huge decline in wheat exports took place.

In the first half of 2013, revenues from wheat exports dropped down to USD380 million, whereas the figure for last year was almost USD600 million. Almost 90,000 tons have been sold to the C.I.S. markets, with sales revenues of USD30 million. The volume sold in other markets was 1.124 million tons. The monetary value of non-C.I.S. exports was USD356 million. Last year, the values for the C.I.S. markets were 101,000 tons and USD25.8 million in sales. The values for non-C.I.S. exports were six million tons and USD1,575.5 million in sales.
