Siemens opens a production facility

In Voronezh, Siemens Transformers has officially launched a production line for manufacturing traction transformers on the site of an already existing plant. This is Russia’s first local production of components for electric traction and locomotives, including the high-speed Sapsan trains, electric Granite 2ES10 freight locomotives, and the local Lastochka trains. Each year, the company can produce about 250 traction transformers depending on the capacity of the equipment. The enterprise’s production area is more than 16,500 square meters. The total investment is over EUR50 million.
