Siemens to build a plant

Siemens Technology Gas Turbines (STGT) and YIT Lentek signed a major contract for the acquisition of land in the industrial park Greenstate in the Leningrad region to build a plant for the production of gas turbines.

At the same time, STGT and the Leningrad region government signed an agreement providing for investment project support.

The land area for the plant is 3.8 hectares. STGT intends to build a facility for the production of world-class gas turbines, as well as a customer service center. The turbines to be produced at the plant include the high-efficiency models SGT5-2000E and SGT5-4000F with capacity of 166 MW and 292 MW. The total area of the factory is about 25,000 square meters.

It is planned that the facility will be commissioned by the end of 2014.
